Hi, I’m Trish
I have been told time and time again by women older than me, that your 50’s are when you come to terms with your authentic self. It’s when you stop comparing yourself to your friends, you accept your body with all its curves, rolls and imperfections, and you come to true peace with the person you have become, despite or perhaps because, of all of the ups and downs that life has pushed you through and challenged you with over your half century in existence.
I always thought 50 seemed so old. But as it turns out, my mind and body don’t feel how I thought I would feel at this age (although I do have my days!), my career has followed anything but a traditional path, I continue to love “playing” sports, and still, even at this age, have questions about the various elements of my identity.
But even though my life looks very different from my expectations or my mother’s “fifty,” I continue to enjoy the ride, because around every corner and in response to each success and failure, I continue to redefine what “living to the fullest” means to me.
Redefining Able is a lifestyle blog to inspire mid-life women to continue to be curious about life, embracing their experiences (the good, bad and the ugly), setting out on new adventures, and realizing that it’s never too late to learn or start something new. Together we can continue the journey of inventing and reinventing ourselves with age, stopping to smell the roses, and living our best lives. I hope you will join me as I share the top tips I’ve learned about accepting and embracing my journey and hope you will engage and share yours too.
Thanks for stopping by!
